Richard Woodman is a singer/songwriter from Northern Alberta. With a unique blend of country and rock and folk, Richard's voice has been described as smooth and edgy and pure. He has shared stages and/or opened for bands such as: Emerson Drive, Corb Lund, Jim Cuddy from Blue Rodeo, George Canyon, Gord Bamford, Julian Austin, The Trews, Dr. Hook, Streetheart, and April Wine.
Richard was selected as one of the top 6 from Alberta to appear on CMT's, "Big In A Small Town" series. Richard received great responses from Casey Clark, and from Brad Mates of Emerson Drive. After singing his original song Clark remarked, "That was awesome! Love the tone, the control of your voice, it just suits that song so well, you killed it!”. Mates said, “You showed me everything you can do with your voice. The idea of what you just showed in your vocal range from top to bottom, to me, was a great indication that you got something special”. They were very impressed and while deliberating after the audition, Casey commented, “His song was solid but his voice was amazing!” and Brad commented, “He had a wide range in my opinion, I felt, song wise, through all of the competitors, I really felt like Richard’s song had that radio sense to it...as a single”. Casey agreed saying that it was "radio friendly".
Richard recorded his first 7 song EP in Nashville, TN, with producer Eddie Gore at Eddie Gore Productions. Richard's album was released April 11, 2015 and is now available on iTunes, Google Play and on CD.
